Onsite Response for Post-Accident & Reasonable Suspicion
The OCS team is available for 24/7 post-accident and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing and is a preferred MUST provider. The standard 10-panel expanded drug screen tests for illegal substances and commonly abused prescription drugs such as Adderall and Xanax, in addition to common adulterants.
Regulated or Federal 5-panel urine drug screens are completed using the clinic reference lab and clinic pre-printed CCF. The result is reported from the lab to the clinic MRO, and the final reviewed and signed result is then provided to the client. Regulated or Federal tests MUST be conducted on Regulated or Federal CCFs and collected in strict adherence to Department of Transportation and Health and Human Services guidelines. Severe penalties apply if the guidelines are not followed. All collectors must be trained and certified by DOT-approved trainers.
Drugs Screened: Amphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP)
Non-regulated 10-panel urine drug screens are collected at the clinic reference lab and sent out for testing. Results are reported directly to the clinic, or the client retrieves them through the lab web portal. This is the most-used test panel in the employment industry and includes street drugs and additional commonly used prescription drugs not covered in the 5-panel. Our expanded 10 Panel drug screen also includes common adulterants.
Drugs Screened: Amphetamines, THC, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Methaqualone, Methadone, Propoxyphene
A non-regulated 5-panel urine drug screen is collected at the clinic reference lab and sent out for testing. Results are reported directly to the clinic, or the client retrieves them through the lab web portal. Similar to the DOT 5 panel test, unlike the 10 panel, it DOES NOT cover street drugs and additional expanded prescription drugs.
Drugs Screened: Amphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP)
This is a non-regulated or federal drug screen in which the client has their own lab and/or TPA, and MRO. The donor or employer will provide the clinic with a pre-printed CCF, and the collector will perform the collection and send the specimen to the lab on the CCF. The clinic does not get the result and has nothing to do with the process after the specimen has been shipped to the lab. The results are reported directly to the client from their contracted MRO or lab.
POCT instant drug screens are collected using an approved cartridge or cup. The collector performs the screening test using the device according to instructions and interprets immediate results. The test is determined “negative” or “non-negative”. If it is negative, the client and donor are provided immediate results. If the test is non-negative, it is placed in sample bottles, sealed, and sent to the lab for confirmation testing. The client and donor are notified that the test is “pending further testing.”
Drugs Screened: Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Ecstasy, Marijuana metabolite, Cocaine, Opiates (codeine, morphine, hydrocodone/hydromorphone), Oxycodone/oxymorphone, Phencyclidine (PCP)
Drug screen in which a sample of hair is taken, the specimen is sealed, and a CCF is used to send the specimen to the lab for testing.
Drugs Screened: Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates, Methamphetamine, Ecstasy, Phencyclidine (PCP)
Test used to sample the alcohol levels in deep lung air to determine if an individual is intoxicated above limits for federal and non-federal workplace compliance, safety-sensitive positions, and/or other employment requirements. Testing machines with DOT-approved fuel cell technology and the ability to perform confirmation and calibration must be used for these tests. The technician must be trained and certified to perform the breath alcohol test, and only a calibration technician can calibrate the machine. This test may be regulated or Non-Regulated.
A medical review officer is usually a physician or other trained professional capable of interpreting results and verifying prescription medications to determine the final outcome of drug screens once they have been confirmed by GC-MS at a SAMHSA-certified laboratory.
A special drug screen approved by the construction and skilled trades industries, with specific panels and cut-off levels designed for union and construction regulations. This is a collection-only drug screen.

OCS provides multiple drug testing methods to match your industry requirements and operational needs. Our federally certified collectors conduct testing at your worksite through mobile services or at our Michigan clinics in Livonia and Ann Arbor:
Required for transportation and aviation companies, screens for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and PCP.
Expanded testing for general workplace programs that includes additional substances other than the DOT-required panel.
Provides preliminary onsite results within minutes for faster hiring or post-accident decisions.
Measures current alcohol impairment for federal and nonfederal workplace compliance and post-accident situations.
Detects drug use over a 90-day window, ideal for pre-employment screening with longer detection periods.
Specialized testing required for construction trades working on union or federal projects.
Oral fluid testing collects whatever is present in the oral cavity (not just saliva) using a swab. It offers a faster, simpler collection process than urine testing and requires no special kit from the donor.
All OCS drug testing uses laboratories certified under the national laboratory certification program. Our laboratory partners follow SAMHSA guidelines for specimen analysis, cutoff levels, and confirmation testing. Every positive drug test undergoes confirmation testing, and we handle all chain-of-custody documentation from collection through final reporting.
